 Our purpose in collecting and using personal information

The Japan Management Association (hereinafter referred to as JMA) recognizes the appropriate protection of personal information of its customers and all who are concerned The Japan Management Association (hereinafter referred to as JMA) recognizes that, as an organization dealing with personal information, it is our important responsibility to appropriately protect such personal information of our customers and all concerned.
Under JMA’s "Personal Information Protection Declaration and Policy," we protect personal information based on the following provisions:

 Management of personal information

As an organization handling personal information, we will carry out appropriate safety management measures complying with laws and regulations as well as our internal rules in order to prevent leakage, loss, and disturbance of personal information, thereby protecting personal information.
In addition, we will provide education to all our employees on the appropriate handling of personal information to ensure appropriate management of such information. (The Personal Information Management Officer is the person responsible for matters concerning personal information held by JMA)

 


 Purpose of collecting and using personal information

(1) We employ appropriate methods in collecting personal information which comply with the Private Information Protection Law.
When collecting personal information directly from the person in writing or through website and others, we make the intended purpose clear and obtain consent in advance. JMA may, within the scope of intended uses listed below, collect personal information directly from the person by means not limited in writing.

(2) The scope of intended uses for personal information in our business and service areas are shown in the following categories of 1 to 14.
The intended uses for each business or service will be listed in the separate terms and conditions at the corresponding websites or other means, within the scope of following 14 purposes:

1. To fulfill business contracts (exhibitions, seminars, certification and registration or other services)
2. To offer information and propositions related to exhibitions, seminars, certification and registration, or other services.
3. To contact the person with user surveys on exhibitions, seminars, certification and registration activities, or other services.
4. To respond to inquiries and requests on exhibitions, seminars, certification and registration, or other services.
5. To provide information or to respond to the person regarding our exhibitions, seminars, certification and registration activities, or other services.
6. To create statistical data.
7. To contact on purchasing or procurement activities.
8. To carry out recruitment activity.
9. To respond to inquiries from JMA member companies or entities.
10. To carry out administrative tasks including billing and payment.
11. To contact, make inquiries, or give response in the course of carrying out other general administration.
12. To prevent errors and missed details concerning inquiries or requests.
13. To ensure safety management measures against disaster and crime.
14. To carry out services entrusted by customers.

(3) We may use personal information made available over Internet etc. to provide information and propositions related to our services, when the intended purpose of such disclosure matches our purpose.

(4) We may use personal information collected by our client companies via their events to provide information and propositions on our services, provided that those who offered their personal information have agreed to such arrangement and to the intended use.

(5) Even if it is outside the scope of our intended uses, we may use personal information without prior consent when:

1. It is stipulated by laws or regulations.
2. It is required to protect significant interests of the person or the public, such as life, health, or assets.
3. JMA is required to cooperate the government agency, local authority, or any other official consignee to pursue their activities stipulated by laws, and when obtaining the prior consent may cause to hinder the process of their activity.

 


 Provision and disclosure to third parties

Personal information collected from the customer will not be disclosed or provided to third parties except when:

(1) It is stipulated by laws or regulations.
(2) It is required to protect significant interests of the person or the public, such as life, health, or assets.
(3) There is a prior consent of the customer

 


 Steps for personal information inquiries and disclosure

If a customer or his/her representative wishes to make a request concerning personal information, please refer to "Contact details.".
The requests may include notification of the intended purpose, disclosure, correction of details, partial addition or deletion, discontinuance of use, permanent deletion, and discontinuance of provision to a third party (hereinafter referred to as "disclosure etc.").

 


 Outsourcing the handling of personal information

Depending on the type of service offered by JMA such as mailing and e-mailing, JMA may outsource the handling of personal information to a business partner or subcontractor under confidentiality agreement.

 


 Personal information management on JMA's website

(1) Log-in information
We keep record of the customer's access log information each time the customer visits JMA's Website.
This information is only used for gathering website's traffic statistics, and will not be used for determining individual identities except for the pages that require user authentication.

 Discretion in collecting personal information

(1) All personal information collected by JMA is considered to be provided at the customers' own discretion. Please check the details of the services etc. made available by entering personal information displayed in writing or on the website before entering your personal information.

(2) When you choose not to provide required information, we may not be able to provide the intended services properly.
